From January 17 to February  4, Dine About Mid-Island offers you the chance to sample delicious new cuisine! Local restaurants will be offering prix fixe menus or combos at a special price for this food and beverage festival. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Explore the multifaceted narrative of Nanaimo, from its evolution as a vibrant urban center and trading post, to its strategic importance as a military installation, and its role in preserving a rich and diverse natural ecosystem.

Get Cultured

Discover Coast Salish design with an emphasis on fashion at Ay Lelum Design House. Take in a live performance at the 800-seat Port Theatre. And visit local galleries which will be featuring new exhibits throughout the winter.

Work up a Sweat

WildPlay features a range of activities designed to challenge and excite visitors of all ages. Featuring five levels of adventure courses, dozens of zip lines streaking through the trees, four lanes of axe throwing, a giant swing, and the legendary 150ft Nanaimo River Bungy Jump, you can choose what level of thrill and skill is right for you.

Downtown Nanaimo offers a great selection of unique boutiques and artisanal shops, where you can find everything from handcrafted goods and local art to trendy fashion and bespoke jewelry. The Old City Quarter is particularly famous for its historic ambiance and eclectic mix of boutiques.
